Denyse Loar was born in Erie, PA. There she studied and obtained two degrees in Paralegal and Business Management. She moved to Charlotte, NC in 2005, where she embarked on a career as a Business Owner, sold the business and began a career in Business Development for a Health and Wellness Company. When she lost her job due to company downsizing, Denyse decided to seek a new direction in her life: she decided to explore artistic creativity.
Since that time, Denyse has focused on the creative potential of Acrylic, Oil and colored pencils. She finds deep, rich, bold hues intensely exciting. Denyse thinks of her palette, brushes and paper as tools for play. Water and paint dance together in her studio, making forms that spark the imagination. She is also obtaining her Bachelors of Arts in Business Administration/Specializing in Marketing, in hopes of opening an Art Gallery one day to give all new artists a place to showcase their talent.
Artist Statement...
Sometimes I feel like a kid in a candy store when I go to the art store...I want to try everything and I want to buy everything...There’s just never enough time to do it all but the fun is in the trying...Prior to losing my job, I had never allowed my artistic side to flourish...In fact, I'd draw and than hide it away...I simply had never listened to my inner voice which had probably been nagging me all along...Part of being an artist is taking that time to be still and following your intuition...I find that my artistic endeavors are intertwined with my spiritual journey and I can’t have one without the other...
As a self taught artist, I am so thrilled when someone enjoys my work enough to purchase it and put it in their home or business... But aside from all that, the true joy from my artistic journey is in the creative process itself...It fills a void that I wasn’t even aware was there...I also feel we are drawn to events in our lives as we need them and are ready for them and that time for me is now...this is my journey and I share that journey with you!!!
